The Fallen Angels was a dance troupe formed in 2024 following classes taught by former instructor Luci Furr. When Luci made the difficult decision to step away from instructor life, the Angels had her blessing and decided to carry on independently as a troupe.
During this time Kitty Claus began her own journey as an instructor after finding joy and confidence both as a performer and as a member of a class. She wanted to share that love and passion.
Whilst, due to various health and unavoidable time issues, the Fallen Angels are not currently dancing together as a troupe, the friendships remain strong and Kitty wanted to pay homage to that community by naming her own Showgirl Academy after the group that made it all possible.
40 year old mum of four and published model Kitty, started performing in 2024 after tentatively putting "perform in public" on her "40b440" list. Finding the nervous rush, the backstage buzz and the sense of achievement somewhat addictive she decided to pursue her passion further. Performing on stages at four separate events in the second half of 2024.
With a strong belief that women should be empowering each other and building each other up, Kitty wanted to pass on the confidence that she had gained and build a community of women who would do just that while also learning not only to accept themselves, but to LOVE themselves!
As well as a modelling career that has seen Kitty on several front covers, Kitty has also trained pole dance and lyra for several years. In her other life Kitty also has over 10 years of experience in the weight loss industry where she has learned a lot about the psychology around fitness, diet, relationships with food and how these affect body confidence, self esteem and self worth. Kitty brings all of this knowledge and experience into her classes to promote an environment that is supportive, warm, friendly, empowering and body positive as well as being fun and accessible.
Burlesque and showgirl inspired routines are taught in class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 19:30pm.
Whilst these classes can be booked as one off lessons, it is advisable to book the block of four when possible as this not only makes the classes cheaper, it also ensures you will get to learn the choreography for a whole routine.
Pole-esque classes are on a Wednesday evening at 20:30. These are absolute beginner friendly classes, focusing on beginner moves and dance flow around the pole. Pole-esque combines burlesque with pole dance, so choreography is taught over a four week course whilst also incorporating some strength conditioning as the pole becomes a prop in our dancing.
We host other events as well, such as wellbeing retreats, pole photo shoots, a snake meet and greet with photo shoot and in August we have a giant Martini glass workshop and photoshoot.
Follow our socials to be kept up to date on special workshops and photo shoot events.
We are currently preparing for our first student showcase in October 2025.
This is in aid of Womens Refuge and tickets are available now.
Some of the ladies have never performed on stage before so are nervously excited for a brand new experience, but we also have a fantastic line up of guest performers who are coming along to support everyone on the night in aid of the charity.
When attending classes, The Weatherely Cantre has its own private car park which is free to use but you will need to register your car using one of the QR codes or the tablet in reception.
Please wear what you feel comfortable in. Leggings, shorts, gym wear works well for movement, but equally fishnets, lingerie and other dancewear wont look out of place. Dance heels, socks or bare feet are optional.
For pole classes you may need to have shorts for some weeks as you will require skin to grip, knee pads and yoga mat are advised if possible but are not essential.
Please remember to bring along a drink as hydration is important.
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
